This document addresses the use of Symark PowerPassword, User Management Edition and Symark PowerBroker software to pass Linux/UNIX audits and meet regulatory compliance such as Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), HIPAA, GLBA and NISPOM. PowerPassword UME and PowerBroker address native UNIX/Linux security problems with account and password management, and access to root privileges. In addition, this document describes how these tools help solve the problems with incomplete logs to ensure regulatory requirements are met and Linux/UNIX audits are successfully completed.
