OSHA has recertified Amazon.com's Delaware Fulfillment Center in New Castle at the "star," or highest, level of the agency's Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). During a ceremony at the center May 28, Vincent Soss, compliance assistance specialist for OSHA's Wilmington Area Office, presented the facility with a recertification plaque. The center predominately warehouses books and music CDs, and has 450 employees who service millions of online customers.

"Amazon.com's Delaware Fulfillment Center consistently has demonstrated a strong commitment to employee safety and health," said Domenick Salvatore, director of OSHA's Wilmington office. "The company has maintained an injury and illness rate below the industry average for three years."
