The ISO 17799 Security Standard - A Presentation

This presentation on the ISO 17799 security standard covers the history of the standard, its background, and of course why ISO 17799 may be of relevance to you. It was originally published on a stand alone site, but is now an integral part of the ISO 17799 Service and Software Directory.

It was only a matter of time before an ISO security standard emerged for information technology. Equally, it is inevitable that it will have a dramatic effect upon the whole area of information technology.

This presentation desrcibes ISO 17799 from a high level and overview perspective. It explains the background to the standard, its history, and explains to some degree why it cannot be ignored. It will hopefully serve as a helpful and useful introduction to the topic.
