IPLocks Database Security and Compliance Software Released

(Aug 08, 2007)-- IPLocks, whose award-winning software is Keeping Data Safe for companies around the world,  announced the latest release of IPLocks Database Security and Compliance software. This release delivers enhanced data protection, usability, and scalability for Global 5000 organizations.

IPLocks has expanded its database vulnerability assessment to include operating system attributes. With the addition of OS-level policies, another avenue for attackers is effectively blocked. Additionally, IPLocks Vulnerability Assessment policies have been re-designed, clearly identifying best practices and appropriate remediation measures.

“All compliance programs start with an assessment phase to establish a sound infrastructure,” says IPLocks CTO, Adrian Lane. “Compliance initiatives like PCI, GLBA, and SOX all proscribe hardened databases requiring vulnerability assessment as the first step before taking on additional database monitoring.”

Wide-scale database security deployment compounds issues with role separation, audit data consistency, and data integrity. To meet the challenges of enterprise deployment, IPLocks has made key enhancements such as:

* Policy Management. A standard security or compliance policy can be deployed to multiple sites with just a few mouse clicks, providing auditors with consistent controls. Navigation of very large schemas, like PeopleSoft, has also been improved.
* Deployment Flexibility. Increased platform support, decreased resource requirements, and improved performance lower IT costs and workload.
* System Administration. Automation is key to cost control. IPLocks has made it easy to automate tasks and distribute information. For example, compliance reports can be automatically created and mailed to all stakeholders at pre-defined intervals.

IBM customers receive a big boost with complete support for the IBM stack including AIX with WebSphere Application Server and DB2 repository. Additionally, IPLocks has extended monitoring and auditing features to take advantage of DB2’s native auditing capability.

IPLocks has automated the scheduling and operation of its software for enterprise deployments and after-hours operations. Many DBAs and system administrators prefer scripts to automate tasks. IPLocks Command-Line Interface (CLI) fits that need, enabling administrators to control IPLocks’ functions.
