Client Intake Program Enhanced by Daytop and Ensures HIPAA Compliance With Open Source ProcessMaker

(June 30, 2009) - An open source business process management (BPM) software, Colosa's, ProcessMaker, that facilitates enterprises and public organizations to automate paper-based workflow processes, has been selected by Daytop-NJ to automate its core workflow processes and ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).Daytop-NJ will rely on ProcessMaker, and support from its open source developer Colosa, to automate its processes, gain access to client data and update underlying workflows. As a leader in the field of substance abuse, Daytop-NJ has a commitment to reach the highest standards in safeguarding the security and privacy of its clients' data, and comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). It has selected ProcessMaker to help deliver on these needs.

Headquartered in New York City, Daytop Village is one of the oldest and largest drug rehabilitation facilities in the US and has helped treat many clients since its inception in 1963. The adolescent program in New Jersey is designed to emphasize positive peer interaction in a therapeutic community model. The professional staff are experts in psychology, social work, medicine and education.

Organizations rely on ProcessMaker to automate intensive, approval-based processes such as Client or Employee On-boarding, Engineering Change Orders, RMA systems, Credit workflows, marketing approval workflows, purchase requests, and much more. ProcessMaker is an entirely web-based commercial open source software suite and is offered as a free download with enterprise support plans available.

Daytop-NJ may initially use ProcessMaker to manage its intake and assessment program and will later extend its use to automate additional critical processes.
