New Voyence Solution Helps Assure PCI Compliance
(Sept 17, 2007)-- Voyence, a pioneer in automated network change and configuration management solutions, today unveiled VoyenceControl PCI Advisor – the first product in a new Compliance Advisory Series. PCI Advisor removes guesswork associated with ensuring network devices adhere to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a set of best practices which mandate that companies must enhance data security and proactively protect customer account information at all points in the payment process.
“Matching the PCI regulatory mandates to the actual network data needed to demonstrate compliance is an on-going, resource intensive issue - with no easy way to bridge this gap,” said Jeffrey Nudler, senior analyst, Enterprise Management Associates. “Voyence's new PCI Advisor is designed to address this gap by embedding the applicable PCI DSS requirements into VoyenceControl and automatically mapping change and configuration data to each PCI mandate for a clear view into compliance of the ever-changing state of network behavior.”
In a related announcement, Voyence stated it has been accepted as a Participating Organization of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council. Voyence will influence the direction of PCI standards through active involvement in community meetings, provide advance reviews of drafts, standards, supporting materials as well as continue regular dialogue with key stakeholders. New changes to compliance regulations coupled with the size and distributed nature of today’s networks have complicated IT personnel’s ability to secure corporate and personal data. Voyence’s PCI Advisor maps change and configuration data directly into embedded PCI DSS mandates to help ensure network devices stay compliant with repeatable processes and dynamic dashboard displays. The new offering also eases audits with in-depth reports detailing how network devices adhere to each PCI DSS requirement.
“The integrity of our customers’ data is absolutely critical,” said Josh Levine, president of Vanguard Managed Solutions. “As a leading provider of managed solutions to the retail market and a Voyence customer, we contributed to the requirements for the PCI Advisor solution and look forward to leveraging the new capabilities within VoyenceControl to help document, track and enforce PCI compliance for our customers.”
“During the past year, personal data has been stolen from thousands of credit card holders, because networks were not locked down and there were no repeatable, best practices for ensuring that network devices were correctly configured,” said Darren Orzechowski, Voyence’s VP of Marketing. “Voyence’s PCI Advisor provides IT managers with best practices and templates for quickly and reliably achieving and verifying compliance with the PCI DSS, and more importantly removing significant risk, exposure and cost for companies and consumers.”
Voyence’s new VoyenceControl Compliance Advisor Series was specifically developed to go beyond rudimentary change and configuration management capabilities and actually guide organizations through PCI, SOX, HIPAA and other compliance mandates.
