WorldSync Unveils fmDataGuard 1.0

(June 26, 2007)-- FMPUG Monthly Meeting -- WorldSync, Inc. tonight announced fmDataGuard 1.0, a new product for FileMaker Pro solutions that provides the technological basis for regulatory compliance, logs all data changes and allows for instant data rollback or quick recovery from a crash or corruption.

"We developed fmDataGuard over several years of helping our clients contend with regulatory requirements," said Jason Erickson, president and CEO of WorldSync, Inc. "During the process we realized fmDataGuard makes it infinitely easier to recover from a crash or from errors caused by users. Thus, we added features for rollback or roll forward in a single button click, and made set-up an easy three-step process. The question left unanswered is whether the recovery side or the regulatory side will be a bigger hit."

fmDataGuard works with FileMaker Pro 8.5 and FileMaker Server 8.0v4 and provides complete audit trail capture, with no scripting, layout modifications, or custom development required. fmDataGuard captures all Add, Change and Delete actions to a separate table, keeping a field-level change history. The resultant fmDataGuard log meets the audit log requirements for regulatory mandates such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, and European Union Privacy (Basel II) and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

In addition fmDataGuard makes it easy to recover from a crash or corruption, and to revert undesired data modifications. fmDataGuard uses the logged changes to empower administrators to roll back data in a single button click. Similarly, administrators can roll forward using log data to reconcile the last known good backup with the current state of the database since that backup, hence updating the backup, all in one button click. If needed, data recovery is provided for both the field-level and the record-level modifications. fmDataGuard also supports logging of custom events, such as user login and logout, report generation and much more. Setup of fmDataGuard is an easy three-step process.

WorldSync demonstrated fmDataGuard 1.0 for the first time to the FMPUG meeting in Seattle, WA, chosen for its unique, worldwide approach to syndicating otherwise isolated user and interest groups under one umbrella.

"FMPUG does something so different that it's become a movement," continued Erickson. "Andy Gaunt and his tireless crew of volunteers are to be commended for their work building a strong FileMaker developer community. Beyond attending ourselves, WorldSync will also support FMPUG in its FileMaker DevCon activities later this summer in Orlando."
