AT&T Government Solutions Announces $41 Million Network Order for U.S. Department of Justice

(March 01, 2007)-- AT&T Government Solutions has been awarded an extension to its existing Justice Unified Telecommunications Network (JUTNet) order with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The network order is valued at up to $41 million over two years and will provide JUTNet services to approximately 1,900 DOJ locations. JUTNet is a high speed optical network based on Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology.

"More and more federal agencies are turning to dual-carrier network architecture to ensure continuity of operations(COOP)," said Don Herring, president of AT&T Government Solutions. "In addition to proven redundancy, the AT&T MPLS network provides a dynamic infrastructure that helps to meet the needs of the DOJ and its agencies. AT&T is also helping its customers at DOJ maximize their existing resources while helping build a platform for future technologies."

Under the terms of the order, AT&T Government Solutions, a business unit of AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) and a leading worldwide provider of integrated, network-enabled solutions and IP-based solutions to the federal government, will provide DOJ with managed network services that include program management, on-site installation and integration, managed security, engineering and design.

The MPLS network, a state-of-the art Virtual Private Network (VPN) that is the nation's first and highest bandwidth all-MPLS network (OC-768), provides DOJ and its agencies with features such as a secondary carrier for transport and access diversity, private IP transport with encryption, end-to-end service controls that use IP-based features to ensure performance of voice and video communications, and strict Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics.

JUTNet enables the DOJ to consolidate networks from more than 30 component organizations into a single, highly secure, managed MPLS network. AT&T Government Solutions is working with DOJ agencies such as the U.S. Attorneys office, U.S. Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Justice Management Division and others to help them use JUTNet.
